Why did I choose this syndrome as a project?

The idea of exposing Ehlers-Danlos syndrome arises because in my country (Uruguay) there is not enough knowledge of it.

ABOUT MY RESEARCH

OBJECTIVE: The objective is to inform and observe how many of the people and doctors surveyed know about this syndrome and how many may possibly suffer from it.

MATERIALS: Surveys

METHODOLOGY: With the previous objective an investigation was carried out in the city of Mercedes, Soriano, Uruguay, surveying 100 people distributed as follows:
-56: students of the Lyceum N ° 1 José María Campos between 15 and 17 years
-10: children between 8 and 14 years old
-34: adults between 18 and 70 years

The video shown to the respondents.

Here is an example of how the surveys were

RESULTS AND CONCLUSION

Results
The first graph shows the comparison between men and women. Although there is a difference in the number of respondents (67 women and 33 men), the first result clearly shows that the female sex is predominant in many cases with a large difference, but for the number of men surveyed, in some cases They are predominant, for example in myopia and exercise number 4 of the surveys.

Observing the graph we can see that from the exercise of language mobility the percentage of women is much higher than that of men with these problems.

Conclusion
According to the surveys, we found that the most affected are the youngest, specifically teenagers between 15 and 17 years of age.
We found that in our city only 3 people of the 100 respondents had any idea what Ehlers Danlos syndrome was all about.
When we requested information from 3 doctors, 2 of them knew how to give us an accurate explanation and the third one barely knew the name.
