Most types of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome are inherited in an autosomal dominant manner, which means that only one of the two copies of the gene is required to appear. There is a minority that is inherited in an autosomal recessive way, that is to say that for the manifestation of the symptoms there must be an alteration in both genes.
